Starting on the 2nd row along side Kenny Schrader(former NASCAR driver),
Kenny would squirt out to the lead while Kevin was contending with 2nd
place. Kevin would get a good run out of 2 and pull all the way along
the inside of the 2nd place car. Then going into 3, the other car was
not too happy about getting passed and tried driving through Kevin's
rightside door and then trying to spin him coming out of 4. Luckily
Kevin shook him off and set out to at least keep the 2nd spot and redraw
for the feature which he did just that.
Kevin would get a good draw and start outside of the front row. Kevin
with battle for 2nd for first several laps until the first caution. On
the restart Kevin would start again on the outside of the leader.
Running the high side, Kevin would now battle for the lead and finally
get it. But as our luck would go, the car would start to loose a little
grip and Kevin would fall back a few spots to 4th at the end...our best
finish so far this year. All in all a good night, but we have things
that we have yet to play with on the new car to try and help the fading
at the end. We'll probably head to Mt. Pleasant this Friday to try some
new stuff and run the new track configuration there. Video Link: Race Video

May 15th Results: from 13th to 5th! |

Started the heat race 10th. after the 2nd restart, Kevin would go into
turn one only to find yet another car stopped and sideways, he tried to
avoid, but smacked the stopped car with the right side door. He kept it
going and came into the pits to get it checked over. It looked to be the
sheet metal and the door bar being mangled. Kevin would restart at the
back and work his way up to the final transfer spot of 5th.
Starting 13th for the feature...Kevin would set sail towards the front
again this week. Using his normal high line, Kevin would pick off cars
under green for the whole race. At one point, under yellow, he would
find himself in third, but at the end he would end up 5th. Starting to
look like we have a systemic problem with the new car and it falling off
at the end...time to focus on getting that fixed....and soon.
