June 27th Results: 6th from 18th.
Monday, 29 June 2009

We made some setup changes this week with the hope of returning to a better performance record. We thought we were close in hot laps, but it's hard to say when the track is so much different then what you will be racing on later in the night.

The heat race would go like our normal night lately and start at the rear of the heat race. Kevin would work his way up to 5th and miss the transfer spot.

On to the B-Main where we would start 6th....not sure how they got us there, but either way, Kevin would work his way up to 2nd transferring through to the A.

By feature time, we made some more changes and this time we hit it. Kevin would start 18th deep in the field. At the drop of the green Kevin began to work the high side of the track in turns 1 & 2 as a lot of guys where running low mid pack. Kevin picked up several spots in the first few laps and would get a good caution for him to catch back up. Restarting in 12th, he would go back to work finding a good line through turns 3 & 4 and with a long green flag run, the top would finally start to come in. Kevin took advantage of the clear high line and passed several more cars on his way to a solid top 10 finish and crossed the finish line only a few feet behind 4th and 5th place. The car was definatley hooked with and it showed...with several guys saying that Kevin was the fastest car on the track that night.

We will try to keep the momentum up going in the next couple weeks with 4th of July specials and then the Summer Nationals/Birthday Race July 11th($10,000 to win).

May 16th Results, 1st Win of 2009
Monday, 18 May 2009

With rain for the past couple days it was in doubt weather Oakshade would race or not...as it turns out they would call the races at noon, however, Butler was braving the elements to get the show in. Off to Butler we go...it was windy and a little sunny when we got there but it would soon turn cold as the sun went down. Our night would start out with losing a oil plug in the oil pan, luckily we would only loose a quart of oil during hotlaps. The heat race draw would put us mid-pack. With the setup not quite to Kevin's liking and a narrow track, he would only challenge 2nd a couple times but settled for 3rd transferring to the feature race.

As luck would have it, the re-draw put Kevin on the outside front row for the start. We knew then we needed to make some changes to the car before the feature. Our changes really helpped the car and on the first start Kevin would jump to a huge lead down the back stretch...only to get called back due to a spin further back in the pack....that would set the tone for the rest of the feature as there were many, many yellow flags for spins, crashes and lots of laps for getting the lineup right. On each restart Kevin would again pull a nice lead each time. The 91 car would be the only car to move through the field to try and challenge for the lead...however, the 117 appeared to be too strong and would go on to take his first victory of the season and his 8th career win at the speedway. The feature was ended with only 10 laps of green flag racing in due to the 20min time limit the speedway has imposed.

We would also like to say good job to Logan Beckwith(driver, also from Hanover) and Charlie Heath(car builder/owner) for their impressive win in the Sportsman class...not bad for only being out of a dirt car for 8 or so years now..and the first time the car was on the track. You can also see Logan race at Spartan speedway on Friday nights. It was definitely a Hanover Posse night at Butler.
